It’s summer for sure! Temperatures and unusual weather (Phoenix has monsoon season!) are making headlines from coast to coast!
Vacation days and weeks are here— and perhaps for some, are gone.
That’s sad 🙁
A change in schedule, though, can encourage us to make some life changes. Did you decide to make different food choices this summer? Good for you!
Do you start out with a good breakfast, which gives you a great jump on your day, and find that your resolve weakens throughout the day…and by the time you are on your way home from work, you are throwing in the towel on best choices, and settling for something quick and easy?
Trust me. It happens to everyone.
The key is to be prepared.
I was a Girl Scout from 2nd grade into high school. Our motto was: Be prepared. Those are two little words that can serve you well throughout life. It takes time to be prepared, but the outcome is typically much better.
The advantage of being prepared re: food is that you can avoid the temptations that will sabotage your best intentions.
If making healthy food choices is new to your day, here’s a suggestion to reduce the self-sabotage that can so easily get you off track. Monitor yourself for a few days to see WHEN you are most likely to stray. Then take some specific steps so that you are always prepared to make the best choices, especially when you are at your most vulnerable time.
One day last week, I left the house at 7:30 am to get my car to the mechanic at 8 am. I made sure I had eaten breakfast, had water, had snacks in my purse, and even though a lunch with the Chamber was one of my stops, I made a tasty chocolate GlycoSlim Drink Mix with NutriVerus for a snack and carried it in a small soft ice chest. Extra work…yes…extra time…definitely…but I felt better because I knew I was prepared for the day!
Suggestion: Monitor your day to discover your most vulnerable times for self-sabotage.

If there is anything I can do for you, just let me know!
